Abbey Needs a Home!

Name: Abbey
Age: approx 10 years
Sex: female, spayed

Abbey was found as a stray in Tinton Falls with special needs. She is a senior, probably about 10 years old, and a little overweight. She needs a forever home where she can be happy. She is on a once a day heart medication for a heart murmur, which doesn't seem to slow her down. She would be best as an only dog. She can be noisy when left alone and may not be best for an apartment. She should be good with older children and adults. Abbey is up-to-date on all of her shots, wormed, heartworm negative, spayed and recently had a blood workup.

Recently adopted corgis...

Name: Tucker
Age: 2.5 years
Sex: male

Tucker is a 2.5 year old red and white Corgi. He was sold as a pure bred Corgi from our local pet shop. As you can see, Mr. Tucker is a fluff, on the large side, but so very cute. He may have a little Australian Shepherd in him, but it's hard to say. He is one very handsome young man.

He is good with older kids, good with cats and is very playful. He may have an issue with other dogs, so an only dog home would probably be best for him.

Adopted 1/2004.

Name: Daisy
Age: 11 months old
Sex: female, spayed

This is a little mix that we are trying to place. She is Corgi and Whippet. Only 11 months old, spayed, up to date on shots, house broken, good with other dogs, crate trained. She should not go to a home with kids under the age of 10. She was surrendered because she has nipped at the kids that she lives with now. She was in a home with kids, 2yr, 3yr and 5yr. She is very much still a puppy, eager to learn, and not aggressive at all. She seems to thrive with structure and rules, which she was not given in her other home. Her name is Daisy.

Adopted 6/2003.

Name: Ozzy
Age: 7 years old
Sex: male, neutered
Letter from Ozzy: Hi, my name is Ozzy and I am one of 3 Corgis that were rescued by the PWCCGS in January from a puppy mill. I was one of 280 dogs that were being used by a puppy mill to produce puppies. When they came under investigation, my owners released 60 of the "least productive" dogs to the local ASPCA.

When I came into rescue, I was filthy, un-neutered, skinny and very, very frightened. I had never lived anywhere but in a small chicken coop where I was kept for the sole purpose of breeding to the 2 female Corgis. I never knew a kind word, or the friendly touch of a hand. I would freeze up and crouch down to hide when my foster mom tried to touch me. I would spend hours hiding in the back of my crate. I would not eat when I fist came here, not realizing that I could from a metal bowl, it scared me. My foster mom would just put the kibble on the floor and I would slowly eat it, one eye on mom of course! Mom would cry, and tell everyone, "I don't know about Ozzy, he might not make it, he is just a shell of what a Corgi should be".

Thankfully, she did not give up on me, cuz now I'm "almost normal" (or that's what Mom says now!) I can walk on a leash, I eat EVERYTHING placed in my food bowl, I eat from people's hands, I run around the yard with the other dogs here, and bark, too. I chew on chew bones and have even tried the tennis ball thing once or twice. I love the cats; they are so much fun to sniff! I like the other dogs, too. I really like it when Mom lays me on my back in her lap and gives me lovin's.

Now I need a new home of my own; the 2 girls that came in with me both went to their new homes. Why doesn't anyone want me? I'm a bit older, Mom thinks around 7, but now I'm neutered, up to date on shots, almost there with house breaking -- and really lovable.

I've found the "Corgi" in me, and love people and FOOD!!! (cheese being my favorite!)

If you think that you could be my new home, email Rosemarie at glenroecorgi@citlink.net and talk to her about me!

Adopted 5/2/2003.

Names: Cora and Scarlet
Age: 4 years old
Sex: females, spayed
Notes: Cora and Scarlet are two 4 year old Corgis that need homes. Scarlet is the pure bred, dark red and white. Cora is 99.9999% Corgi, mixed with a little Jack Russell Terrier. Their owner died and his wife could not take care of them, so they came into rescue. Both are housebroken, spayed, up-to-date on shots and micro-chipped. Ideally, we would prefer to place them in quiet homes without any young children. They are used to living with an older couple. They are very sweet and good with cats, and should be fine with older, quiet kids and kids who visit. They love everybody. We will only adopt them to families with fenced yards or to apartment or condo dwellers who must leash walk. If you are interested in either of these 2 sweet girls, e-mail Rosemarie at glenroecorgi@citlink.net for an interview.
